SAF Interlock System
Gilligan Engineering Services are proud to present the UC Modular Safety System. The system can be tailored to meet any requirements and reconfigured as you require, if you were to extend your bay for example. The modular nature of the system also allows easy fault finding and quick replacement for any component in the system.
The System comprises of a series of individual components connected in a star formation to a control box with each component having a separate connecting wire running between itself and the control box.
The Interlock System features a number of Radiation Warning Station's (RWS). Each RWS contains a multicolour bright LED screen, a siren, an emergency stop button and most importantly a radiation detector. The use of multiple RWS introduces multiple radiation detectors into the bay giving giving an increased layer of safety.
GAA001 Gamma Autolock assembly
The Gamma autolock assembly works as an interface between the manual windout and safety system. The GAA contains switches and solenoids and connects to the EDCB via a specific wire. The GAA is controlled by the control box, enabling the source to be exposed. A failsafe device.
GAL001 Gamma Lock assembly
The Gamma Lock assembly acts as an interface between a manual windout and the safety system. Containing electrical switches, it connects to the EDCB. Castell key inserted into GammaLock engages onto windout cable. A key trapped system; castell key cannot be removed without windout cable present.
RWS - Radiation Warning Station
RWS - Radiation Warning Station each contains a multicolour bright LED screen, a siren, an emergency stop button or grab wire connection and most importantly a radiation detector.
A Maglock is positioned above or at the side of a manual entry door, an aluminium plate attached to the door completes the circuit when it is closed onto the magnetic lock strips.
SAF1201 Search Button
The Search button should be positioned on the far wall of the radiation compound from the main entry door, ensuring the bay is clear of personnel, allowing for a safe shot to take place.
SAF401 Door Switch
A magnetic door switch is to be installed on each access point (most commonly the main entry door) into the radiation compound.
